• Our services include : natural gas gathering, treating, processing, transportation and storage; NGL transportation, fractionation, storage and import and export terminals;

and a marine transportation business that operates primarily on the United States inland and Intracoastal Waterway systems.

The partnership’s assets include approximately 50,000 miles of pipelines; 260 million barrels of storage capacity for NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals;

and 14 billion cubic feet of natural gas storage capacity.

The Pipeline Technician maintains and operates pipeline assets including, but not limited to, truck delivery terminals, pump stations, and pipeline right of way maintenance.

The Pipeline Technician maintains and operates pipeline pump stations, storage facilities and all the associated equipment.

Depending on the location, such equipment may include pumps, motor-operated valves, pressure switches, electric motors, transmitters, vibration switches, electronic controls, and pressure regulators.

The Pipeline Technician performs mechanical functions and duties of inspecting, checking, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing all mechanical equipment to maintain high levels of safe and productive equipment performance.

• Routine and preventive maintenance of centrifugal pumps, variable speed couplings and electric motors including bearing and seal replacements, precision alignments, couplings, fans, etc.
• Perform routine maintenance on 2400 / 4160 vac electric motors from 500-1500 hp including medium voltage switchgear and Toshiba VFD.
• Perform maintenance, troubleshoot PLCs, Allen Bradley, Automation Direct etc..
• Perform maintenance and trouble shoot motor management systems.
• Routine and preventive maintenance on other mechanical equipment such as block valves, control valves, air compressors, valve actuators, custody transfer meters, etc.
• Operation and general maintenance of various terminal and pipeline systems
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems.
• Handling of hazardous and highly volatile materials.
• Exhibit the ability to properly document and complete daily logs, regulatory documentation, and work orders.
• Work with other personnel to develop new skill sets as most of the job tasks are on the job training with experienced employees.
• Be available for 24-hour emergency callout.
• Travel outside of normal work areas as needed.
• Prior experience with LPG / propane would be beneficial.
• Plan, organize and facilitate assigned tasks as well as daily activities.
• Plan Projects, Create Scopes of Work, Manage and direct contractors.
• Perform pipeline right of way work including installation of pipeline markers and routine inspections on ROW.
• Locate pipelines as needed and oversee excavations and line crossings.
• Interaction with various landowners and contractors including private, state, and federal agencies.
• Launch and receive cleaning pigs and assist with the launch and receiving of smart pigs.
• Attend and participate in damage prevention meetings.
• Knowledgeable of environmental regulations and Company policies and complying with safety procedures, operating procedures, job plans and regulatory requirements.
• Attend all safety meetings and safety training courses as required by Company and regulatory agencies.
• Meet requirements of Company Operator Qualification Program, perform identified covered tasks and remain compliant.
• Attend training programs on a continuing basis, including computer-based training.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications :

• A minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
• Vocational Tech certificate or associate degree in electrical / Electronics, Oil & Gas technical field or related work experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of the general design and operation of liquid pipeline is preferred.
• A valid driver's license with acceptable driving record is required.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the operation, maintenance, and / or construction of a hazardous liquid or gas pipeline facility, or a similar facility / system is preferred.
• Experience and knowledge of industry related maintenance and repair standards is preferred.
• Knowledge of centrifugal pumps, regulators, MOVs, electronic controls and medium electrical voltage with an understanding of NGL or liquid pipelines is preferred.
• The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions is required.
• Basic computer skills such as : opening, creating, and updating content in MS Word documents and Excel spreadsheets is required.
• Ability to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and / or hazardous conditions.
• The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with other individuals, teams, customers, and stakeholders of the business, at various levels of the organization, in a business like and professional manner is required.
• The ability to modify communication style to influence, persuade, negotiate, and engage all parties according to the audience and circumstance is required.
• Takes initiative and is proactive in addressing issues. Quickly and efficiently completes tasks.
• The ability to demonstrate a strong work ethic, dependability and commitment to the role, team, and company.
• Works indoors and outdoors in and around industrial and electrical equipment.
• Works in temperature extremes due to weather conditions and operating equipment.
• Uses physical force to lift, push, pull and hold equipment and tools.
• Must be able to regularly bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels, raise / lift from ground level and lift up to 50 lbs.

and apply up to 100-foot lbs. of torque.

• Routinely reacts to visual, audible, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work.
• May be required to work in confined spaces (i.e., tanks, between compressors, vessels).
• Must be able to wear company provided PPE including a respirator.
• Must have ability to get in and out of vehicles regularly and ride over rough roads.
• The ability to take callouts and work overtime is required.
• Must live or relocate to within 1 hour of reporting location.
